About me
I was born on the Far North Coast of NSW and have spent most of
my life in this area, primarily as an English teacher. I am currently based
in Byron Bay.
I am the author of secondary school texts and have written extensively
on English literature.
In the late 1990s my life went through a period of profound change,
there was a stripping away of roles and ego. In the wet months of the winter
of 1999 I found myself writing about these experiences in poetic form. This was the genesis
of the Sharing Series.
These poems are descriptive and discursive, concerned with shifting
attitudes and ideas, the universality of human and all existence and the release
and beauty that lies in surrendering to that. And this awakening to awareness
is what's really going on here, we are all in on this, in that we share.
The process of travelling and exploration is continuing. More
recent poems have been published and broadcast here and overseas in a variety
of contexts such as ABC radio and Bay FM, Joussour, an international literary
journal, Kalimat, and The Cyprus Times.
There has been success in literary competitions and song writing.
A more recent role has been translating Russian poetry for the Consular General.
The doors are opening in an emerging and merging in to a greater
consciousness.
Let this be.
